A new generation of Midwest Country music, meet St. Louis’ Les Gruff and the Billy Goat. Their sound, driving like a barge and rolling like a riverboat, defines a genre the band has affectionately deemed “River Dirt.” Akin to its cousins in the Oklahoma and Texas Red Dirt genre, River Dirt perfectly captures the roots, rhythms, and reflections of life in historic middle America.
Les Gruff and the Billy Goat released its debut album, “A Cup of Coffee, an Apple, and a Suicide” in 2013, and has since toured extensively through the midwest and South while recording and releasing 3 full lengths and one EP over the past 7 years.
